A Long Time Ago - Jacob Vanko
00:00 / 00:00

The interstates risky when the clouds hang low

The head winds blow in each direction we go

The mountain stays rugged in the half-lit night

Waiting on the sun to show

And I feel unfinished

like a novel half written

The ending isn't yet to be known

I'm young and I wish I knew this a long time ago

When the rock slide drops life onto your head

When the road seems Wicked and the sun seems dead

I can be a pillar and a flashlights glow

Treading through the tunnel ahead

And the dreams they pass

like trains under cities

Stopping for the people who chose

To get on and I wish that I did a long time ago

Distant - Jacob Vanko
00:00 / 00:00

It must be awfully tough,

lockin doors and layin next to silence

Tryin to adjust

Caught between fed up and open minded

Keep the focus on

souvenir picture frames and their contents

Growin rather fond

of a life filled with more than mere objects

I know that I've been distant

I know that I've  been gone

I know I've got to listen more often than not

The sacrifices made

tangle with the days

like a rainfall that doesn't go away

You remind me of the sun

You're just like the sun

bringin morning to my nightfall

every day that I breathe

I know as you weep and we grow

I don't think that I can change

I know that I've been distant

I know that I've  been gone

I know I've got to listen more often than not

I don't wanna be distant

I don't wanna be gone

I know I've got to listen more often than not

It must be awfully tough,

lockin doors and layin next to silence

A Night Worth Falling - Jacob Vanko
00:00 / 00:00

This makes me oh so calm

Pillow talk in heat.  A night worth sharing

A night worth daring to fall

The walls reflect the old town city lights

Illuminating your pretty lines.  A sight worth seeing

A night worth living

A night worth giving it all

This may heal all my heart

To skylark and steal a night worth taking

A night worth waking my soul

Control is just a wives tale we might need

Tonight I’ll leave it all behind me, despite my thinking

A night worth living

A night worth giving it all

A night worth being

left defenseless to my senses

Hands get restless as we gently fall

A night worth giving it all

A sight worth seeing

despite my thinking

A night worth living

A night worth giving it all

A night worth giving it all

All The Same - Jacob Vanko
00:00 / 00:00

My blinds divide the sun's light

Throwing patterns on the wall

I got a lukewarm coffee on a lonely day

I cough and cringe at thoughts that hinge

On rotten things like love, like loss

They're all the same

All The same

All these games

I want a place to be alone

But I can't be there by myself

It's everything or nothing else

Static blazes from our screens

We make them seem illustrious

They make us crave the passing craze and lust

And it's all the same

All The same

All these games

I want a place to be alone

But I can't be there by myself

It's everything or nothing else

The Great Generation - Jacob Vanko
00:00 / 00:00

On the eve of falling victim to the ending of your stay

Did ya stare into the distance content with all your days?

Did ya smile at unknown oceans and all the livin you’d done?

Did ya cry in lonely theaters beside the one you love?

In the never ending garden of dishonest youth

Were ya the covered antique archway wrapped in vines and truth?

Were ya proud of where you came from before pride was kept in banks? Were ya pleased to be a part of the altruistic age?

I still got a ways... got a ways to go

When the doors of hardened living opened themselves wide

Could ya hang in by your fingertips while other folks would hide?

Could ya stand up for what you believed and own your flaws?

Could ya see old-fashioned wisdom through this modern fog?

I still got a ways... got a ways to go
